Hi, try to move the cursor out of the map view and move it in again. This should restore the range selection cursor again.
This is one of the constant nuisances. It seems to be impossible to intercept the mouse enter and leave events in a fail safe manner. That is why sometimes QMapShack does not switch back to the tool cursor when leaving a dialog. But moving the mouse out of the map view and into it again should reset the situation.
