I use Squirrel Mail. It works fine, but doesn't scale well. So I am moving to IMP from http://www.horde.org

In qmail-ldap, users do have directories. Each user has to have a Maildir, which the path to is stored in the LDAP directory. However, you don't need to store Squirrel Mail prefs in the user's home directory. I have it simply stored in a /home/webmail directory where Squirrel Mail will write out it's user prefs using plain text files.

IMP has the ability to store all user prefs in an LDAP directory. It is not that easy to get this working, though. Most people use a SQL backend to store this type of stuff in IMP and the LDAP stuff is not well supported.

I've seen some talk of Squirrel Mail. Can anyone recommend a good
webmail client that will work with QMAIL-LDAP? The biggest problem I
see is user preferences/directories. Since with qmail-ldap they don't
have directories but just vmail stuff. What have people done to get
around this and what do you all suggest using?
