Hi, everyone!
I'm trying to figure out how can I configure qmail-ldap to use TLS when binding to LDAP server, primarily for SMTP AUTH purposes. I already have it configured to use TLS for SMTP AUTH, but there is no encryption between qmail and the LDAP server...
From what I found in archives, seems like qmail-ldap-controls patch does it, but I can't get to http://qmail.bayour.com/patches_ldap or http://www.bayour.com/qmail/patches_ldap at the moment (10 Jul 2004 03:16 -0000), so I couldn't find more information about it.
But since the main idea behind qmail-ldap-controls seems to be storing control information for qmail in LDAP, it's not exactly what I need. I don't want to keep control information in LDAP, I prefer to have it in files (for number of reasons).
Thus the question - are there any plans to enable TLS support for secure bind to LDAP in qmail-smtpd (and then probably in auth_imap & auth_pop also)? Because at the moment I don't use auth_ldap with Courier-IMAP, I use Courier's own authldap module with "LDAP_TLS 1" set in authldaprc file so it uses TLS when connecting to LDAP.
Or perhaps there is some other patch available out there that allows qmail-smtpd to bind securely to LDAP server?
Thanks, Danke,
Q.
