Do you mean the From: header should be rewritten? That's a bad

Yes. That's exactly what a proposed. Rewriting of From header
and Return Path upon the information of the smtp
        authentication.

AFAIK that's not supported by qmail-smtpd.

That's a good idea to avoid malicious use of our mail
service. We have some users that send messages with others
        mail address. (address spoof)

I agree with rewriting via some known rules. You're saying that
only one address should ever be allowed in the From: header. I
think that limits your users too much, even if it makes the mail
administration easier. Your users, for instance, can't send mail
from work with an alternate (e.g. home) address in the From: line.

But that's one of my problems. I don't want my users sending messages with another address than the company address. If they want to send mails using their home address, they should go to home =)

Mailing lists won't work either unless you make exceptions for
them.

I dont get it... Why they should work? Why should I send messages with mailing lists address in the return-path/from header since lists don't even recieve bounces. That's not the purpose of mailing lists.

If you are not concerned about those things, then I guess
it's a good idea :)

Yes, I still thinking that's a good idea. Thanks for your comments, Ted. -- Fabio Gomes
