When you said "specify STARTTLS in smtpd.cdb", is STARTTLS an
environment variable? If it is, where did you learn about it?
It is to be passed to SMTPAUTH. It works for me. I have not passed it
TLSREQUIRED.
Sameer, in fact SMPTAUTH can have the value "TLSREQUIRED" or any-value, for
example "" (an empty string). So, when you pass the string "STARTTLS" in
SMTPAUTH, qmail-smtpd reconizes it as any-value, and enables smtp
authentication.
