umm no, I think you're mistaken.  Alain was on the right track.  Your looking for an email address which distributes  all emails to that alias to a list of users attached to that alias - right?

  1. Create an email account with the name of the alias i.e. [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  2. In the LDAP database add the attribute mailAlternateAddress for the users you want the mail to be distributed to
mail:    [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailAlternateAddress:    [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailAlternateAddress:    [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailAlternateAddress:    [EMAIL PROTECTED]

and so on.......

Cheers

Darren

I am sorry for not clarifying to the most that I could, but when using
the mailAlternateAddress, this email address can only be used for a
single user.

What I am trying to do, is create an email alias which is delivered to
multiple users. I tried to use the normal .qmail alias files, which
only delivers internal mail sent to the alias.

I appreciate all of the help that is given.
Thank you,

Hello,

I have done some searching, and I believe I just missed the answer
to this. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is the correct method
to create multiple user aliases, to create an organizational unit
that has an email address and add all of the users into that ou?

Thank you,
Josh

Hello Josh

I am not really sure if I understood your question right. What do you
mean by "user alias"?

For email address aliases, I just add additional Email-Addresses as
mailAlternateAddress-attributes to any normal qmailUser-Object.
I can add as many as I like.

On delivery qmail-ldap looks for any matches in any mail-attributes or
mailAlternateAddress-attributes found in any qmailUser-Object.

Hope this helps.

Greetings
Alain
