Couple of things with perl and suid I recommend that you install the Redhat rpm perl-suidperl if you have the machine registered with Redhats rhn you can use up2date perl-suidperl and it will install it.

Qmail
Can you connect to the box on port 25 ?
What is your /etc/tcp.smtp file set to allow ?
Do you use rcpthosts?
Is this server acting as the mail server or a gateway?

The first thing is to make sure that qmail works without qmail-scanner then add in qmail-scanner support

Hi,

I am almost there.

I have red hat 9 (2.4.20-8)
Qmail - 1.03
qmail-scanner 1.16
spamassassin 2.55

If I run the qmail-scanner test_installation.sh it works...spam and viruses are detected.

It does not seem to be working when I send or receive email.

I did have the perl error with setuid, I do not know how to compile perl with the setuid command, can anyone help me with that?

Any ideas why my mail is not being scanned?

Look forward to hearing from someone!

Neal
