...you mean instead of defining QS_SPAMASSASSIN like it says in the FAQ?
If you had simply put "QS_SPAMASSASSIN=1" in a line in /etc/tcp.smtp
referring to the IP address of your mail hub, it would have done the
same thing without you needing to now be running an unsupported version
of Qmail-Scanner.

It's documented in the FAQ....
