Oh!  You wanted to know HOW to do it!

For all the users who are to receive mail locally, create a line in
virtualdomains of the form (replace USER with the username):
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]:alias-local

Do NOT put somedomain.com into locals.
Repeat: Do NOT put somedomain.com into locals.

In ~alias, create a .qmail-local-default which says (replace ME with
the real name of the host, hopefully not somedomain.com):
    |forward "$DEFAULT"@ME
