We had problems with Eudora hanging on some messages. This was messages
with bad multipart/mime, specifically, there was no end boundary or the
end boundary was not correct. Happened rarely, and clearly a Eudora
design bug.

Look at the top message in the Maildir for this problem. Delete it
(after printing it from e.g. Mutt/Pine) and everything should work.
Sorry, I don't remember the sending MUA - just wrote to the sender
himself.

We had problems with another pop3 server and mbox where mbox corruption
would cause a similar hang with all clients. After switching to
qmail-pop3d and Maildir (>> a year ago) we've had no server side
problems.

Does anybody out there [using qmail] still use mbox delivery for a pop3
server? Why?
