There is a qmail specific rate limited autoresponder linked on the
qmail.org web page:

I have written one -- also rate limited -- as I needed one I could use
with "that other mailer":

(Known problem with 1.0beta: create $HOME/.autoreply before you use
it. The release version will create this directory if required.)
Note I don't think either program will stand up well to thousands of
items of mail per hour as currently implemented due to unsophisticated
handling of the history records. For lower volume should be fine, or
if not, yell. :-)
