qmail wont send

Goodevening, I have installed and tested qmail-mysql and have three virtual domains. The domains recieve mail fine and I can log in and retrieve mail fine. The problem is when I try to send mail from any of these domains I recieve an error reply saying qmail-send will not try to resend because the xxxx domain is not listed in the /var/qmail/control/local file. I thought this file had to be empty if all the hosted accounts are virtual accounts. What am I missing. Thank You, Marty
