Hi fred,

checkpassword needs to run as root..here is a copy of my run file for
qmail-pop3d
the important parts (not that it's not all important) are -u0 -g0

#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/local/bin/softlimit -m 2000000 \
     /usr/local/bin/tcpserver -v -R -u0 -g0 0 110
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup pdc.diligence.com \
         /bin/checkpassword /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir 2>&1

Hope that helps,

Jer
