Rumor has it that Uwe Ohse may have mentioned these words:

just

>Outlook is, by design, 100% away from perfection. No, i'm not talking

Are you sure it's _only_ 100%???? Granted, my Eudora 3.0 Pro isn't perfect
either, but at least it's not a "Visual Basic virus haven..."
>Regards, Uwe (not opposed to antivirus software - unless it hurts me)
And with all the talk of flunking students & firing employees, no-one seems
to address the ISP owner's condition of "we have to support it or lose
business."
Granted, I'd ***Love*** to tell each and every one of our customers "Look
-- quit using Outlook or go someplace else for your service," but I have
this creepy feeling that my [miniscule] paycheck would wither up to dust &
blow away with the next snowstorm (and winter's only a few months away
where I live...)
To try to bring this remotely back on-topic: Is there any way to have a
"local" virus scanner -- such that if a customer of our ISP tries to send a
virus-riddled message that it bounces the message, letting the person know
they're trying to send a virus? Or is that only possible with *all* SMTP
conversations? I really don't want to have to go to a full "virus scanning
package" if I can help it, & I want to do the "right thing" but I have to
do something about all of our customers that have a virus that I cannot
track... :-/
That way, the multiple "virus found" messages don't find their way back to
mailing lists & whatnot...
