Indeed this list seems to be running wild without djb around.  Years
ago when I actually used to read it[1], he would often step in and
crush off-topic and/or unconstructive threads.  I also think when
people knew they had the author's ear they were more inclined to
start/contribute-to interesting technical discussions as well as think
a bit more before posting.  With qmail development seemingly at a
standstill, perhaps apathy is contributing to the decay as well.

As far as my situation, no worries.  I've got like, thick skin, and
especially on this list where the tone has always been stern at best.
My main purpose was to discover whether I had overlooked something in
qmail that would have helped simplify a problem I was having.  I
didn't, and so I got my answer, and now I'll move on.
