qmail-popup/qmail-pop3d works well, you already have them on your
system. Just follow LifeWithQmail to set it up, it's easy.

It seems you can't pop mail from more than one maildir per user, so if
you sort you mail into different mailboxes and want to pop them all, you
can't.
IMAP can do that I think, but I have no experience with it.
