Nope, they can and will spoof valid addresses, or subscribe just to
spam. I've seen it happen.

I, like several other posters, subscribe (for example)
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]', but still send from [EMAIL PROTECTED] This
allows us to do easy filtering without ugly tools like procmail, and
still receive private replies in our INBOXes rather than in our qmail
folder.
