Not at all. You can recompile the qmail binaries while qmail is
running. You don't need to stop qmail to that, as qmail won't care --
you're only affecting files in the qmail source directory, after all.
"make setup check" is the step that will modify things under
/var/qmail/, and that is where you need to stop qmail and restart it.
