Disadvantages to use MySQL

I am setting up a new machine with the latest devel vpopmail,qmailadmin,ezmlm-idx,sqwebmail,Imap... everything listed on inter7 site.    In past installs I ignored the MySQL options, but I can see a good use for it now.  Are there any side effects that I should be aware of or things that don't work with MySQL enabled?   Thanks in advance   Ross Davis DataAnywhere.net   PS  You guys are doing a great job on this stuff! ;-))
