Other than MySQL going down is there any functionality that I will be missing by using MySQL.

ie. I am assuming there will be no more dot files, are their some things that I will not be able to do with mysql. Quotas, Multiple forwards.... These are the kinds of things that I am most afraid of.

Your only problem is that your email now relies upon mySQL. If mySQL crashes then your email has gone as well. I personally use mySQL for other things (a forum software) and that has crashed the server more than once. It would be devestating if the email on the server was taken down as well.

That is the only disadvantage that I can see.

Subject: Disadvantages to use MySQL

I am setting up a new machine with the latest devel vpopmail,qmailadmin,ezmlm-idx,sqwebmail,Imap... everything listed on inter7 site.

In past installs I ignored the MySQL options, but I can see a good use for it now.  Are there any side effects that I should be aware of or things that don't work with MySQL enabled?

Thanks in advance
