Ok, my .qmailadmin-limits looks like this:

~$ cat ~vpopmail/domains/flordemaio.com.br/.qmailadmin-limits
maxpopaccounts: 30
maxaliases: 30
maxforwards: 30
maxautoresponders: 30
~$

If is there anything wrong, please let me know. I also tried with colon, but
I got the same return: accounts/unlimited (30/unlimited).

I'm using vpopmail-5.3.20 and qmailadmin-1.0.24

That file format is fine, colons are optional. I tested it on my development machine (with 5.3.19 and 1.0.25) and it worked.

Did you by any chance compile vpopmail with --enable-mysql-limits? If so, vpopmail uses MySQL to store the limits instead of the .qmailadmin-limits file.

--enable-mysql-limits=y|n Turn on (y) or off (n, default) mysql handling of .qmailadmin-limits
