Will these templates be external to the program code so say a regular joe could edit them after
the installation?

will me producing a patch for 1.2.x help in putting this into 1.2?
I think of those not as enhancement requests but as "real" bugs.

Hold off on a patch, Rick Widmer has undertaken a major cleanup of the QmailAdmin code, and has pulled all of the HTML out of the source code and into the templates. We're going to start a 1.3 branch very soon, and your change should go into that.

My definition of "feature request" is a request for something that's lacking in the program. I'm reserving "bug" to refer to existing features that are working incorrectly.

Clicking on a letter in the account index jumps to the first page of accounts starting with that letter. Clicking on "Next" should take you to the next page.

Also, I'd like to be able to customize the mailing list texts (welcome mail,
etc) for mailing lists, not only the settings, via the web interface. Are
there any plans for doing that in 1.3, or/and would it help if I spent some
time on it?

It's something I've wanted to see, and I just now added it to SourceForge: <http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=876998&group_id=6691&atid=356691>

If you spent some time on it, that would help us greatly. My plan of attack would be something like this:

Add strings to the language file to describe each file in that directory. Have a lookup of filename to text description number. On the main page, have links to edit each file based on it's description (perhaps with the current size and last edit date). On the edit screen, put the contents of the file in a textarea with buttons to save or cancel changes.

It might also be useful to have an expanded index page that displayed the contents of each file under its index entry for editing.
