Can you verify that the .qmail-default file was changed?
as i mentioned i don't want the .qmail-default to be overwritten because
it does domain wide filtering through maildrop...
If the vdelivermail command has a Maildir path as the second parameter instead of an email address, then mail sent to a non-existent address will be placed in the Maildir without getting processed by the .qmail file.
And if so, that mail sent directly to the user is processed properly, but mail sent to the catchall is not?
i'm not really sure what the catchall will do in this case. do you mean
one catchall account for all the forwards and vacations for that domain?
can you explain please..
No. I was asking if you were still having problems.
Say that 'postmaster' is the catchall mailbox (i.e., mail to non-existent users will go to postmaster). If you email postmaster directly, vdelivermail will process postmaster's .qmail file. If you email joesmith (a non-existent account), vdelivermail should forward it to postmaster (if [EMAIL PROTECTED] is in the vdelivermail line of .qmail-default for the domain) and will process postmaster's .qmail file.
