Can I suggest that current-install-script.sh do a read-style request for
input that sets that variable instead of editing the script?  Like 

echo Select your operating system...
echo 1. RedHat
echo 2. CentOS
[etc]
read ostype
if ostype == 1 { $var = rhat } else something.

or whatever the variable is.

Just one less thing to have to potentially break.
