I'm not sure if anyone answered this or not... When you did the upgrade,
you needed to stop QMail first, and then remove the old version of
spamassassin-toaster. Do this:
qmailctl stop
rpm -e spamassassin-toaster
and then run the current-install-script.sh again to put it all back.
This should make your spamd connection refused error go away,a nd
hopefully fix your smtp problem.
