Hello Istvan, I'm not sure whether you are interested on my humble opinion, but Im running
CentOS 4.2 (Final) 32 bit version at cpu family : 15 model : 4 model name : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+ pls no comments about 32bit OS on 64 machine - I choose this solution because from my point of view the 64 bit OS is still not able to work without any problems. Lot of library problems and missing links are still in place. with qmail-toaster and samba as primary domain controler and firewall setup was done via shorewall. I'm quite familiar with iptables but this box was sewned with hot needle - I know it's not a good solution but you know .... ;) What I fould like to carry out: It's not a good solution from the security point of view to have samba PDC and firewall gateway on the same box - you know sensitive data on the firewall - you are playing with fire. CentOS has one small problem with account ending with "$" (account is used for PC connected to domain". All this accounts can not be added via useradd but you need to change passwd/shadow manually (btw. redhat has released a patch for it's RH OS, but this patch is not included into CentOS) If you are interested about more details just sent a reply. I can try to put some stuff together. PS: I have tried the same with WhiteBox 3.0 approx 6 month ago and also without any problem. -- Best regards, Martin Thursday, October 27, 2005, 7:21:12 AM, you wrote: > After spending 1 month trying to make Qmail-toaster on a Fedora Core 4 > x86_64, I gave up and I tryied CentOS 4.2 x86_64.
