Another way this has been done: 1.) Create secondary smtp addresses on the exchange server with the same domain name. (IE: [EMAIL PROTECTED]) This will allow the exchange server to receive the e-mail. Set the real domain name as the reply to address on the exchange server.
2.) Create the accounts on the qmail server in the correct domain as forwards to the dummy accounts on the exchange server not pop3 accounts. 3.) Make sure the qmail server can see the exchange server by the name of the dummy domain - add to hosts file of the qmail server if you do not host your own DNS. Message flow: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --> Qmail Server --> [EMAIL PROTECTED] I have also set our exchange servers to use the qmail server as the "smart host" for sending mail out as well as none of our MS boxes are connected to the internet. I am sure there some details missing here but that is the "jist" of what I do. I would have to dig around a bit but I have the spamassassin configured to globally dump spam instead of individually. We run approximately 500 accounts through our toaster this way. Yes, it does tend to be a bit cumbersome with moves adds and changes but what else is a mail admin going to do all day. Thanks!
