Seems like:
cnt40-svcs.sh
shouldn't be a problem, but it pukes all over the place when run,
complaining about /bin/sh (!) being a bad interpreter. Running it so:
sh ./cnt40-svcs.sh
Also creates numerous errors. Very strange; this is on a stock RHEL 4.0 ES
box...

Sounds like your script contains CRLF instead of just LF. If that's the
case, run 'dos2unix cnt40-svcs.sh' to strip out the CRs.
