Except I only use Yum one time in the entire life of the distro.... to
download / install apt...

Personally I don't like pain. :)
Then again, both apt and yum are about the same on a single arch
platform, such as i386. On x86_64 where you have 32-bit and 64-bit
packages, it's much nicer having yum which is arch aware.
