Doing a yum list installed shows them all as being properly installed. In the error it claims to not find the lib dir (weird), yet this is on a fully functional toaster box, and mysql works on it.

configure: error: Unable to find your MySQL lib dir, specify
--enable-libdir.

What can I do?

The mystery deepens.
