Ok, I must have misunderstood the info about static ips in the QMT-iso
wiki a bit then.

I havent done anything with then mysqld installation.
The service mysqld won´t start at all...

When I issue /sbin/libexec/mysqld -u root

I get ERROR Fatal error Can´t open and lock privilege tables: Table
´mysql.host´doesn´t exist.

Where must I configure musqld to get it to even start up?

I have only set the rootpassword in the initial setup.
Try service mysqld start
It hasn't been initialized yet and starting the service should do this for you. You will have no root mysql password at this point. I'm working on a work around for the IP address thing. I may be stuck with just having you define it at the boot prompt..... Still looking for a better way.
