If you tail the install/build log
tail -f /opt/qtp-sandbox/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/log/build-recent.log
you will see what it is aborting on.
I just fixed error by error as they came up. Below is what I had to
install by hand before the qtp-newmodel would install with no errors.
So far all is working for me. The source rpm's should already be
downloaded from starting your install.
rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40
/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/SRPMS/vpopmail-toaster-5.4.17-1.3.4.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/vpopmail-toaster-5.4.13-1.3.3.i686.rpm
rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40
/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/SRPMS/qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.15.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.15.i386.rpm
rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40
/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/SRPMS/courier-authlib-toaster-0.59.2-1.3.6.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh
/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/courier-authlib-toaster-0.59.2-1.3.6.i386.rpm
rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40
/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/SRPMS/simscan-toaster-1.3.1-1.3.6.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/simscan-toaster-1.3.1-1.3.6.i386.rpm
It appears the install order is wrong.

Eric Shubes is the one who wrote/maintains this part of QTP
(qtp-upgrade). Give him some time - he started a new job a couple
months back that is very demanding.
If nothing else, I'll remove qtp-upgrade from the next QTP release and
move back to the old upgrade script.
