Erik(s);

First, thank you both for all your work! You are both important and
gracious assets to the Linux and qmail communities and I, for one, thank
you, thank you, thank you. You are doing a great work here.

So, I finally had the chance to run the qtp-whatami script with your changes
and, after chewing through my fingernails, had great success. (I will make
this long for future reference in the mailer archive.)

My notes: I couldn't run the qtp-whatami.txt script. I changed the
extension and permissions but it returned a "bash: ./qtp-whatami.txt:
/bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory" which, to me, shows
an advanced text editor carriage return after the /bin/sh entry. I searched
for any extra carriage returns (nano, vi, vim, gedit) and compared between
the original qtp-whatami and the updated qtp-whatami.txt files but didn't
see any "^M" entry. So, I just manually changed the original qtp-whatami
script's check fedora section with your changes and it worked without a
problem:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# qtp-whatami
qtp-whatami v0.2.5
DISTRO=Fedora
OSVER=7
QTARCH=i686
BUILD_DIST=fdr60
BUILD_DIR=/usr/src/redhat
This machine's OS is supported, but this version/arch has not been tested.

So I ran qtp-newmodel; twice. The first try I followed all default answers
(suggested) except the question to create a linked sandbox. It had [n]
suggested but I figured that the link couldn't hurt and, instead, answered
"y." It ran well until it got to the "Copying files... ...to the linked

Hoping for success, I ran qtp-newmodel again but followed all suggested
answers (without the linked sandbox). It seemed that all other packages
were updated from the first attempt except for squirrelmail, spamassassin,

Thanks for clearing that up, EE.

I've attached the latest version of qtp-whatami, which will also be included
in the next QT-plus release. It uses the fdr60 parameter for FC7,8 systems,
so they might work better. Users should understand that this is the best we
can do with the 1.3 branch, and FC7+ will not be supported until 1.4 is
released.

Thanks again to EE for all his work on this.
