Normal scanning times are 0.1 to 0.7 seconds.
When the timeout occured spamd was eating all CPU.

What about the "max-children", is that a cause or consequence? Should
I try to raise the limit (how do I do it)?
How do I find what message this was and the size of it?
Some statistics of timeouts found from the logs:
215 in March
--> clamav was upgraded to 0.92.1-1.3.17 and spamassassin to 3.2.4-1.3.13 here
78 in Feb
83 in Jan
2 in Dec
2 in Nov
0 in Oct
--> clamav was upgraded to 0.91.2-1.3.15 here
497 in Sep
--> spamassassin was upgraded to 3.2.2-1.3.11 here
0 in Aug
0 in Jul
0 in Jun
