It is possible that the 'BOUNCE_FLAG' for this user has been set. Check the user's pw_gid field in the MySQL database. The field should be set to the number zero.

The only way I know of to really know what's happening would be to look at a detailed log. You can use recordio to obtain the details, but spamdyke has a much nicer detail logging facility.
