OK, I just want to restate this to clear up some of my confusion:

When on the local console, you CAN telnet to "localhost 25"
and "ip.address 25"
>From another machine on the SAME
network you CAN'T telnet to "ip.address 25"

outside your network you also can't telnet to "ip.address 25"

Does that sound correct?  I think I'm getting confused where
the break is starting.
