I know its got to be with the machine because I cannot telnet to its IP port
25. None of the log files can tell me why its getting refused. No firewall
is running.

OK, I just want to restate this to clear up some of my confusion:

When on the local console, you CAN telnet to "localhost 25" and "ip.address
25"
>From another machine on the SAME network you CAN'T telnet to "ip.address 25"
>From anything outside your network you also can't telnet to "ip.address 25"

Does that sound correct? I think I'm getting confused where the break is
starting.
