Makes sense - I did find info on migration and articles, etc., but have
a bunch of questions around this:

I recompiled vpopmail with the option to put spam mails in a 'probable
spam' folder which has two subfolders (ham and spam) which I clean
regularly (lerning the mail either way and putting it back in inbox or
deleting it). Now, the latter part won't change as it's just maildirs
regardless of dovecot or courier, but will maildrop still work with
dovecot? or is that something that relies on courier? (after all, I
think they are both part of courier-mta)? I think I remember something
about dovecot using sieve scripts instead?
I hope that QMT will eventually be using the entire dovecot suite of
programs (imap, pop3, deliver, sieve). For now though, you can use only
imap. Delivery still can work as it does now, with the maildrop-toaster
package. I think this is how most QMT users have implemented dovecot
thus far (I have).
If anyone is interested in trying out dovecot's other capabilities
(pop3, "deliver" (LDA), and sieve filter) in place of what QMT presently
uses, you're encouraged to do so.
In general: Since it is not yet production stuff, is this something that
should be discussed on the devel list instead?

That would be appropriate. Not so much because someone on devel would
miss it (I'm guessing everyone on devel is on this list too), but to
keep the noise here down.
