So you have 5 messages waiting to be delivered externally. Nothing
waiting for local delivery.
Have you tried stopping qmail
# qmailctl stop
and then running the queue repair tool
# queue_repair.py
?

Would need to see some log files. If the whole system is freezing, this
would leave me to believe you have a hardware problem, especially since
it worked fine in the past and only recently started having issues.
The send log would be pertinent.
Also, are there messages in the queue?
# qmHandle -l
Still sounds like a problem with the queue. Can you run queue_repair.py?
(it's part of the qmailtoaster-plus package)
