You will not be able to use the restore script to do this, but you can
manually do this.
Unarchive the archive, then un-gzip the mailstore to a temp dir and copy
the user's emails over.
If you only copy the messages, you will not need to edit anything else -
courier will see the messages and rebuild the appropriate files to deal
with them.
