The normal messages from spamdyke go to the smtp file, as you've seen.
# qmlog -f smtp
Or if you want to see only the spamdyke messages:
# qmlog -g spamdyke -f smtp

spamdyke has a nice detailed logging feature, but I won't go into detail on that here. Just be aware that it's there when you need it. It's very slick.

I do see a lot more of grey-listing and denials that I don't remember seeing before, but it seems to have quieted the smtp logs. Is that normal?

I do remember seeing something (here on the list) about Spamdyke reducing the load on the server by keeping things blocked at the source, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for yet. Though, my client with the worst spam troubles does suddenly seem to have a siginificant reduction in traffic, and no spam yet.

Source Level and you will find tremendous increase in your server performance as Clam AV and SpamAssassin have to scan remaining 20% of mails.
