Which version did you try?

There was a bug in spamdyke 4.1.x which would sometimes keep it from terminating in a timely fashion. 4.2.0 came out about 6 weeks ago. If you tried an earlier version, I'd give 4.2.0 a try.

If you tried the 4.2.0 version, I'd really like to help you work out what the problem is. I've never seen spamdyke increase the load on a host, but have seen it reduce the load considerably. Your host will do a lot less scanning (spamassassin and clamav) with spamdyke installed.
