I became aware today of a problem that is a little bizarre to me. A user
reported that some email headers appear as text in forwarded or replied
to messages. The client program being used to send is Outlook'07, and I
don't know which client the recipient was using.
The headers shown as text began with:
/m:51/d:10306
When I examin headers from my QMT, I see this:
Received: by simscan 1.4.0 ppid: 11138, pid: 11139, t: 5.4052s
scanners: attach: 1.4.0 clamav: 0.96
/m:51/d:10306 spam: 3.2.5
This is not a line wrap situation. The /m:51/d:10306 line is a separate
line which starts at the beginning of the line.
So I'm guessing that Outlook'07 is seeing this and presuming
(erroneously but somewhat understandably) that messages headers are
done, and this is the beginning of the message text.
I looked back through messages and the upgrade logs on my server, and
determined that the problem began to occur in June'10 when I upgraded to
clamav-0.96.1. It still appears to be happening with clamav-0.97.0 (and
every other QMT package being current) as well.
Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas how to go about fixing it?
