I have a client that is having problems sending email. It's an old
program that does not handle authentication very well. The program gets
a message, then sends it through smtp to the server. The server keeps
rejecting it. I see it come in and then it gets dropped. I turned off
every thing I could think of that would be blocking it. I even when as
far as adding it as a relay in tcp.smtp. Still no luck. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Presuming the client is using port 25, use spamdyke's detailed logging to see what's happening. See if the client attempts authentication, and if so, which type.
