Are you seeing anything in the dovecot log that corresponds? I
wonder if perhaps dovecot runs short of some resource at times
during heavy loads.
I do not see any obvious errors in Dovecot logs. About every hour I see
this one of these:
auth-worker: Error: vmysql: sql error[3]: Table 'vpopmail.users' doesn't
exist
I wonder what these are?
Regarding my account I see only lots of:
Info: Login: ...
Info: Login: ...
Info: Login: ...
Info: Login: ...
Info: Login: ...
Info: Disconnected: Logged out bytes ...
happening almost at at the same time, so Tbird seems to do multpile
logins and then disconnecting and then logging in again.
I just noticed that my dovecot.log does not seem to be rotating, its
almost 1 gig of size. Perhaps this can slow things down as well? I'll
try to setup rotating and see if it affects my I/O load.
Also, which version are people using? It would probably behoove us
to upgrade to the current stable version. I'll make that a priority
while working on the COS6 release, as dovecot could be released
ahead of other things for those already using it.
I'm running the latest availble from qtp via yum: dovecot-2.0.17-2.qtp
I'd be glad to test a newer version.
Regards,
Peter
I've got a post-it note on my desk regarding dovecot log rotations. ;)
I'll see about making dovecot a priority with the QMT 1.5 release. I
don't see any problem with making it available for testing before the
whole is ready to go. That'd probably be prudent.
Thanks.
