I presume it's courier you're. I'm guessing that there's an index file
of some sort that courier's missing, or some other courier
incompatibility between your old and new versions.
Rather than try to fix courier so that it works, I'd go ahead and
install dovecot. See

Dovecot's very good about fixing itself if it needs something which
isn't there. It's also much more efficient handling large mailboxes.
Plus, dovecot will be the stock imap software for QMT soon.
