While that's an interesting piece, I'd like to clarify that the current
best practice is to have *every* client authenticate submissions.
Setting the RELAYCLIENT variable via tcp.smtp should be used only when
absolutely necessary, such as for a web app which submits mail and
cannot authenticate. Even in this case, this should be considered a
temporary configuration until the app can be fixed to use authentication.
I realize that the stock squirrelmail-toaster configuration does not
authenticate, and there's a 127. line in tcp.smtp to allow for that.
This will be changed in the stock QMT packages, possibly in the
forthcoming COS6 release.

server (SMTP) requires authenticatin.
Which port are you using. Normally clients should use the submission
port 587.
