Correct in all but in this case it actually was their DNS screwed up.
I use dnsmasq as my resolver. It easy to configure and quick. It also
seems to handle oversized responses as well.

Newer updates to the spec have made that a larger buffer, but many DNS clients can't handle the overflow, and so error
out... and the assumption is made that it is a CNAME caused error... an assumption that is not always correct.
