That is what I would do if you'd rather have Courier, but maildrop-noauthlib-toaster REQUIRES dovecot as maildrop-toaster requires courier-imap, courier-pop3, and courier-authlib. So you will have to go back to maildrop-toaster and remove maildrop-noauthlib-toaster. I may have to move maildrop-noauthlib-toaster somewhere else so this doesn't happen again. Or, during updates, just have people use the exclude (--exclude) option.

As a precaution NEVER use the '-y' switch with yum so you can ALWAYS review what's being installed/updated/removed.

I created the noauthlib designation because I couldn't update my CentOS 5 that were running Dovecot.

Hi Eric,
Agreed but the isssue was not the noauth but that I had issues
with yum updating and finally got it all to work this morning.
I was not intending to go to Dovecot i wanted to leave this box
alone as it is working well.
To correct it should I uninstall dovecot then reinstall the three
erased packages?

cannot find log/run?

Tony,

Yesterday you were installing maildrop-noauthlib-toaster. This is a
version of maildrop that does not conflict with dovecot installs as
maildrop-toaster did. In fact, dovecot is a requirement of 'noauthlib.'
As of dovecot-2.2.7 on the old mirrors for QMT, dovecot removes
courier-imap, pop3, and authlib. So, when maildrop-noauthlib is
installed dovecot is installed and courier-imap, pop3d, and authlib are
uninstalled. Are you still using courier?

Hi all,
I ran an update on my CentOS5.11 Server this morning and it dutifully
updated.
However I think Dovecote has been installed (I think) and now I get
errors like

supervise: fatal: unable to start log/run: file does not exist
supervise: fatal: unable to start log/run: file does not exist
supervise: fatal: unable to start log/run: file does not exist
supervise: fatal: unable to start log/run: file does not exist

Anyone any ideas please?

TIA.

appreciate it.

Tony
