You may want to try the following
image.addEventListener("changeLoaded", function(e) {
e.getData() && ( YOUR CODE HERE );
});
to handle the change of "loaded" to true.
It might help to read the documentation of qooxdoo's powerful event
system, particularly the so-called property events:
